The opening or 'kick-off' meeting of the O-Health-Edu Project was held on October 24th and 25th in Clermont-Ferrand dental school.
This meeting brought together all the partners to lay the groundwork for the project, flesh out project plans and identify a more precise project timeline for the intellectual outputs. The meeting provided valuable working time giving space for meaningful exchange of ideas and for partners contribution.
Over the two day meeting the following key points were discussed and further explored and clarified:
- Administrative and financial management of the Erasmus project. Presentations by the administrative coordinators of the project assisted in providing and ensuring effective project governance was established from the outset. Key issues around reporting requirements, quality control, performance indicators and dissemination were presented.
- Considerable discussion to reinforce the common understanding of the project (Intellectual outputs, working plan, leadership roles etc) and particularly an overall perspective of the articulation of the different components of the project, how they integrate with and relies upon each other and how to best achieve them (preparation, main survey, dissemination, perspective) were all clarified.
- Induction in to the online project management to to ensure clarity around communication and workflow management was agreed.
- Partners led and/or participated in 4 workshops designed to allow brief exploration of the main elements necessary to conduct the Europe-wide survey on dental education (IO4,5). The workshops helped in preparation of O1,2,3,7 and resulted in vigorous and open dialogue sharing multiple and at time competing approaches and views that operate within the EU dental education arena.
The findings of each workshop will be collated at the end of the meeting and will be discussed. These activities will focus the agenda for the production of the Outputs 1,2, 3,7 and 4.
