The UCA relies on 5 Colleges in Law-Economics and Management, Technology and Engineering Sciences, Life sciences - Health - Environment, Literature - Languages - Social and Human Sciences and Fundamental Sciences. It counts approximately 35.000 students, offers more than 170 training courses from B.A to Doctorate and integrates 36 unities of research. The dental school of UCA, founded in 1947, is one of the 16 French dental schools. The UCA dental school is playing an important role in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, by preparing future dentists to perform high quality, evidence-based and well-adapted dental care. The faculty of odontology has experts (clinicians, researchers, teachers) in all the domains of general dentistry along with experts in the 3 recognized French specialties (orthodontics, oral surgery, oral medicine) working together with academics from the health, biological or educational sciences fields. The faculty is engaged in research with two teams working in the field of neurosciences (NEURODOL, INSERM U1107) and nutrition (CROC, EA-4847) that support evidence-based teaching. It is involved in innovative teaching and has been recently renovated with a modern simulation center. The faculty also participate in serving the community as the dental students and staff provide a full range of oral health services namely in the hospital clinic and is committed to improve access to dental care for all. The faculty is accredited to manage CPD programs within the French CPD system. The dental faculty of Clermont-Ferrand is an ADEE member and actively participates in ADEE activities since 1998.
